New Building Addition

Posted by Sarah Miller on Saturday, June 11, 2011, In : What's new in church!
Harvest has just aquired some new classroom space!  The church just finished the deal to buy the "Blondie's Beauty Barn" to be used for more classroom space.  Because the building currently sits on the church property, has plumbing and a bathroom, it was a perfect fit.  We are so thankful to Linda Sloniker, the owner of the building we rent for allowing us to keep the "barn" on the property.  Also, we are appreciative to Jeannie Smith for selling the "barn" to the church!

Beginning next week, ...

T-Shirts are In!

Posted by Sarah Miller on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, In : What's new in church!

Here they are!  These are the basic design of the shirts we ordered.  The finished shirts were retouched by the company that did the screen printing, but this is essentially the designs we sent over.

They just got done printing them today!  And they really turned out great.  If you're interested, our cost was $7.50 per shirt.  There are several sizes and colors to choose from, so let us know what you'd like!

MOPS Group to Start Up

Posted by Sarah Miller on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, In : MOPS
Caroline Whitmore is busy organizing a MOPS group ( Mother's Of Pre-Schoolers).  This will be a group geared toward mom's of younger kids, but any mom is welcome!

MOPS is an international organization comprised of individual groups of mother's.  Their website (mops.org) sums up their mission this way:  "a place to find friendship, community, resources and support for you as a woman and mother so you're not alone. Moms have found community through MOPS for almost 40 years - we're your mothering...

Women's Ministries to Begin!

Posted by Sarah Miller on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, In : Women's Ministries
Wednesday, September 15, 2010 marks the first meeting of Women's Ministries (WM's) at Harvest.  We plan to meet at Kristi Whitmore's home for snacks, a devotion and discussion about what we want our WM's group to be like!  It will be a great opportunity to meet the ladies from our church, and share the vision we have for our future.

Directions:  From Harvest Community Church go North on CR 50 (this is the road that is just north of the church driveway).  Go about a mile to the first road on ...

Big Success - Despite Rain!

Posted by Sarah Miller on Monday, May 17, 2010, In : Community Outreach

Despite the rain, the 25 cent sale went on!  Everything had to be set up inside, but people still stopped in.

The church was able to raise around $280 for the Children's Ministries... and at just a quarter an item - that's A LOT of stuff!  Thank you to everyone who helped work the sale - Dennis and Mary, Angel, Abby, Sandy, Janis, and Diane - it couldn't have happened without you!

I'm not a website designer!

Posted by Sarah Miller on Wednesday, January 27, 2010,
Ok - so I am trying to get this website up and going, but for some reason, harvestcchurch doesn't come up when you do a google search!  The only info that is being "crawled" by Google is info on this blog page.  So, maybe if I put the basic church info in this blog, when people try to search for our site, they can find it!

I don't know.  Any suggestions?

In the meantime, here's the basic info for the "Google Webmaster"!  Harvest Community Church is located in Avilla, Mo.  We are a church plant ...

Women's Bible Study Begins!

Posted by Sarah Miller on Saturday, January 16, 2010, In : What's new in church!
Thursday, January 28th will be our first ever Women's Prayer and Bible Study.  We will meet at the church at 10:00am - "noonish"!

You do not need to be a "member" or anything of Harvest Church to come.  We welcome any ladies to come be a part of an informal and relaxed group of gals who are trying to grow in the knowledge of Christ!  Feel free to bring a coke or snack, and there will be coffee provided.  We'll probably start taking turns bringing finger foods too.

The ladies group will be l...

About Me

Sarah Miller

Sarah Miller Hi! I'm Pastor Miller's wife! I get to be in charge of blogging, since my husband is "uncomfortable" with the computer... So, from time to time, you'll see posts here from me, and sometimes posts from Pastor. We'll let you know who's doing the writing! I am a 32 year old mother of 4 kids. Our oldest 3 kids are biological, and we adopted our 4th. I graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, Mo in 2000 with a degree in Special Education. I have been a full time wife and mom, however, for the past 8 years.
